When the director becomes pregnant, her mother begins to lose her memory. As those memories slowly fade, the daughter sets out to illuminate a long-silent chapter of their family history - their escape from Poland in 1989 and the journey through the refugee camp in Traiskirchen to a new life in Austria.
This poetic film essay weaves together intimate conversations, personal letters, staged scenes, and archival footage into a layered narrative that traces the difficult path toward a new home. It reflects on the nature of memory and explores the complex, multifaceted impact of migration.
From a personal perspective, a small migration story unfolds — one of emotional and social relevance.
